Renovation & Structural Retrofitting
Renovations, layout changes, repairs and floor additions, starting with a check of the existing structure.
What this service covers
Every renovation starts with what is already there. Our engineers check the existing structure before we remove a wall or add a floor, and tell you plainly what needs strengthening. We then handle the work, from structural repairs and waterproofing to new kitchens, bathrooms and finishes, phased around you if you are living in the building. Our renovation work includes the British-era Director's Building at Manjushree Plantation in the Nilgiris.
What's included
- Structural check before any work
- Column and beam strengthening
- Layout changes and wall removal
- Kitchen, bathroom and finish upgrades
- Waterproofing and leak repairs
- Floor additions after a structural check
From first call to finished work
Inspect the structure
Our engineers check the existing building, look for cracks, damp and corrosion, and review any old drawings.
Plan the work
We draw the changes, list any strengthening needed, and agree how to phase the work if you are living there.
Itemised BoQ
The work is priced item by item, so you can see the structural repairs and the finishes separately.
Renovate and hand over
We carry out the repairs first and the finishes last, with engineer checks along the way.

Common questions about renovation & structural retrofitting
If your question is not here, call or message us. We are happy to talk it through before you decide anything.
What renovation work do you take on?
Full house renovations, layout changes, kitchen and bathroom upgrades, waterproofing repairs, structural strengthening and adding floors to existing buildings. Our engineers assess the existing structure before any wall is removed or floor is added.
Can you renovate older or heritage buildings?
Yes. We renovated the British-era Director's Building at Manjushree Plantation in New Hope, O'Valley, in the Nilgiris, a 4,904 sq. ft. building set among cardamom plants. The work started with assessing the old structure's condition.
Can I add a floor to my existing house?
Feasibility depends on the existing structure, proposed loads and permissions applicable to the building. Start with an engineer's assessment and any available original drawings. The assessment should establish whether further investigation or strengthening is needed before deciding on an additional floor; the existing building's appearance alone cannot establish its capacity.
